Setting Call Bridge offline/online

The Call Bridge can be set offline or online from the Call BridgescoApp.

Call Bridge States

State

Description

beginOnline Transitory state; VQ Conference Manager is bringing the Call Bridge online (connecting to it) and then “discovering” which calls are active on the MCU, which Tenants are on the Call Bridge and LDAP settings.

Online

MCU online and VQ Conference Manager communicates with it successfully. If any form of connection problem occurs, VQ Conference Manager retries 5 times (timeout 5 seconds). After 5 attempts, state > beginOffline.

beginOffline Transitory state; Call Bridge.
Offline

VQ Conference Manager attempts to reassign any calls not bound to this Call Bridge to other Call Bridges with resources available.

Table 1: Call Bridge States

Note: From Acano Manager 2.3 MR3 additional checks were added to detect clocks out of alignment problems. When you try to bring the Call Bridges online, if the Call Bridge clock is out of sync with VQ Conference Manager, the following will display on the Call Bridge list page and the Call Bridge will not come on line.

Viewing Call Bridge details

To view Call Bridge details:

  1. In the System view select Call Bridges
  2. The list of Call Bridges online is displayed

  3. Select a Call Bridge to view the details for it

Adding a new Call Bridge

To add a new Call Bridge:

  1. Navigate to System>Call Bridges>New Call Bridge

  2. Complete the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Name*

Enter the name for the Call Bridge.

Note: in a clustered environment the Call Bridge name on VQ Conference Manager must match exactly the name configured on the Call Bridge, (case sensitive).

    IP Address*

    Enter the Call BridgeIP address.

    TCP/IP Port*

    Configure the TCP/IP port.

    User Name/Password

    Call Bridge Credentials (Administrator).

Cluster Priority If you are in a Clustered Call Bridge environment, the Cluster Priority enables VQ Conference Manager to prioritise which Call Bridges it sends commands to. The default value 0 is the highest priority. The Call Bridges closest to VQ Conference Manager on the network should have the highest priority (lowest value). This ensures VQ Conference Manager attempts to send API commands to these nodes first. This reduces network transmission time and maximises the API commands per second that can be executed.
